Good luck to Margaret Bourke, Jodi Tutty, and Marianne Bookallil who are leaving on the weekend for Lyon to play in the World Bridge Championships.

New Friday Bridge Session

Starting Friday 8th September there will be an additional Friday Bridge session at 10am.

Upcoming Events

GNOT Qualifying event – Tuesday evenings 8th and 15th August.

  • This event is a competition that qualifies pairs to the Gala Pairs on Sunday 15th October.
  • The event features GOLD Masterpoints and will be run with Swiss Butler scoring.
  • The entry list is on the notice board in the Barry Turner room.

ACT Womens, Mens and Mixed Matchpoint Pairs – Thursday evenings 10th and 17th August.

  • This event features RED Masterpoints.
  • Please note, entries closed at 10.00 pm on Wednesday 2nd August.
  • The entry list is on the notice board in the Barry Turner room.

ABF Nation Wide Pairs – Friday afternoon 18th August, 1.00pm

  • Run in conjunction with the normal Friday afternoon duplicate
  • RED Masterpoints are allocated on a national basis in addition to the normal session GREEN Masterpoints.
  • Normal table fees apply.
  • At the conclusion of the play there will be a Panel discussion hosted by Pam Crichton.

The next two series of Beginner Lessons

  • Commence: Monday August 21 at 7.00pm and Thursday August 24 at 10.00am.
  • Each session takes 2 hours.
  • Please let your friends know. 
  • CBC is offering 10% off beginner lessons for those with a Seniors card.

Master the Basics

  • These lessons start at 9.15am sharp.
  • The next lesson is Wednesday August 9 with Barb Toohey. The topic is Transfers – “Minor suit transfers”.
  • Stay and play in the session following starting at 10.00am.

Supervised Sessions

Supervised sessions, with a lesson preceding the play, are on:

  • Monday nights at 7pm, and
  • Thursday mornings at 9.30am.

For each duplicate session the club runs an Eclectic completion where pairs playing in three or more sessions have their scores aggregated to produce a monthly result. Green Masterpoints are awarded to the top third of the eligible field, in addition to normal session Masterpoints. This month’s winners were:
