Upcoming Events

***Wednesday Nights
Don't forget the Monthly Accumulation event on Wednesday night 26th July. Winners on the night get a free voucher while GREEN Masterpoints accumulate till November. People will need to play in 4 out of the 6 nights to qualify for the end of year prize.
Our next Lecture/Pizza night will be Wednesday 2nd August at 6.30 pm when Richard Hills will discuss educational hands and happenings from the ANC. Remember, bridge now commences at 7.15 pm on Wednesday nights.

***GNOT Qualifying event – Tuesday evenings 1st, 8th and 15th August.
This event is a qualifying competition that qualify pairs to the Gala Pairs on Sunday 15th October. The event features GOLD Masterpoints and will be run with a Swiss Butler scoring method.

***ACT Womens, Mens and Mixed Matchpoint Pairs – Thursday evenings 3rd, 10th and 17th August. This event features RED Masterpoints. Please note, entries close at 10.00 pm on Wednesday 2nd August.

The next two series of Beginner Lessons commence 

Monday August 21 at 7.00pm and Thursday August 24 at 10.00am.
Session duration is 2 hours.
Please let your friends know.
CBC is offering 10% off beginner lessons for those with a Seniors card.

Master the Basics

These lessons start at 9.15am sharp. The next lesson is Wednesday July 26 with Barb Toohey. The topic is Signals – “Signals yet again”. Stay and play in the session following starting at 10.00am.

Supervised Sessions

Supervised sessions, with a lesson preceding the play, are on Monday nights at 7pm, and Thursday mornings at 9.30am.
Barb and/or Jeanette & Ann look forward to seeing you there.
Topics for next week – 24 & 27 July – “Trump Play”.

Short Notice Players Needed

If you are able to be called at short notice to be a fill-in, please contact the office. If you could provide your name, contact details, and session times you are available, we will retain these to call you if there is a need for a fill-in on your available days.

ANC Walk-ins opportunity

For those interested, there is an opportunity for walk-ins at the ANC currently being held at Thoroughbred Park, Function & Convention Centre, Randwick Road, Lyneham over next few days.
Times available are:
• Saturday morning commencing at 10.00 am,
• Sunday morning commencing at 10.00 am,
• Tuesday morning commencing at 10.00 am,
• Monday afternoon commencing at 2.00 pm,
• Wednesday afternoon commencing at 2.00 pm.


Lesley is retiring from Manager of our club effective on Friday 21st July, after nearly five years as Manager.

Lesley would like to thank all club members, the various committees, directors, teachers and the co managers (Val Holbrook and Kerry Butcher) she has worked with over the years for their support. Keith her husband has also been incredibly supportive. She thanks Canberra Bridge Club for being a very pleasant environment to work in. She plans to play more bridge at CBC, sort out a new house and spend more time with family.
