Nationwide Pairs- Friday, March 17. The panel discussion at end of play will be led by Niek Van Vucht. This is a Red Masterpoint event.

Garden Working Bee

Saturday 18 March at 10.00am. Please gather up your gardening gloves and gardening tools etc and come and give us a hand. Buckets would also be handy as we will have mulch to spread.

Membership Payments – Are now overdue and will soon become inactive!

When making direct bank payments please identify the payment with your ABF number or your name.
Members who have not paid their membership by March 28 will become INACTIVE with the ABF and will no longer be issued with Masterpoints.

Master the Basics

These lessons start at 9.15am sharp. Please don’t be late. The next lesson is Wednesday March 8, with Barb Toohey at 9.15am. The topic is “Bidding” - So the Opponents have a bid again! Stay and play in the session starting at 10.00am.

Supervised Sessions

Supervised sessions, with a lesson preceding the play, are on Monday nights at 7pm, and Thursday mornings at 9.30am.

Further bridge lesson requirements

Please put forward your suggestions to the committee in the suggestion box.
The committee is preparing a programme for further bridge lessons for rising stars and would appreciate your advice about what you want to learn and when you would like the lessons. Obviously we will not be able to satisfy everyone; but your comments will be taken seriously.

Another Bridge Session?

The committee is considering opening up another session during the day later in the year. Could you please indicate in the suggestion box the day and time that you would suit you as this will help planning.

Southern Cross Club Community Rewards Program

Just swipe your card when making a purchase at the club for the Canberra Bridge Club to gain the reward benefit. If you have not yet registered your Southern Cross Club membership number with the CBC, just pop into the office with your membership number and the managers will assist you.
Your friends and family members can also nominate CBC as the beneficiary.


Please assist Ben Thompson, President of the VBA, with this worthwhile survey on behalf of the Australian Bridge Federation.

He is conducting a review of the ANC for the ABF, and has just put online a survey about it. With the ANC being held in Canberra this year, many Canberra bridge players would be interested in responding and of course he is very keen to hear from them. This survey is to be completed by 31 March 2017
