Newsletter - 20 July 2018

From the President:

We have had another successful Bridge4Kids session last Tuesday.

Many thanks are due to Patricia McDonald, Bruce Crossman, Bev Crossman, Bruce Crossman, Margaret Kyburz, Susie Ryrie and Ross Crichton; and also to the helpful parents and grandparents.

We will look into possibilities for building on this initiative, as always intended by its creator, Elainne Leach. I will talk directly to those adults who have participated so far, but would welcome ideas from others.

Best wishes,
Pam

Lighter moments

When you find a King, keep him. When you find a Queen, love and protect her. Don’t reshuffle your cards because you may end up with a Joker!

Life is like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt is determinism; the way you play it is free will.

Are you a dual citizen where golf and bridge are concerned? Then read on...
Are you a grandparent? Then read on...
Are you impressed by excellence? Then read on...

Adam Thorp, aged 17, but more importantly the grandson of CBC player Brian Thorp, won the World Junior Golf Championship last weekend!

Congratulations to Brian and we must give him due deference now.
