Past President’s Small Corner

Dear Members,

Last week I mentioned about the Canberra in Bloom Congress and the pending visit by Ballarat Bridge Club plus the dates for our visit to Ballarat next year.

On Thursday 28th September the Ballarat members will be here. The plan is for them to undertake the tour of Government House gardens. This starts at the Yacht Club, the big ferry down to Government House Wharf and a tour of the grounds. I am hoping Adrienne Stephens will be our guide on that day. Our members are invited to come along on this excursion at your own cost. There is Tea/coffee available on the ferry, low cost Fish and Chip lunch available at the club on return. Come along and meet our visitors. Who knows, you might buddy up and want to come to Ballarat next year.

Thank you to our members who have answered my request to provide billets for the Ballarat members during the Canberra in Bloom Congress.

Lots of members are asking me for more one liners!! This is a new series that start with
• ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.

• ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.

Happy Bridging

Peter Giles
